Lotus-Like Position

As the name implies, the Lotus-like position is quite similar to the Lotus position as popularized in yoga, but in a horizontal, lying down position.

STEP 1

Woman’s Position

The woman lies on her back, and draws her legs upward into a vertical lotus position. There is a variation to this, for women who can’t do a vertical lotus position or can’t hold the position for long.  They can pull their thighs into a vertical, spread position with her calves pressed tightly against their backs.

STEP 2

Man’s Position

The man, who is in a kneeling position, moves forward.

STEP 3

Instruction for Penetration

The man can now penetrate the woman’s vagina without much manual assistance.

STEP 4

Instruction for Movement

The man then leans forward between her legs, resting his hands on the surface to either side of her shoulders. The man, virtually control the scenario, as he is in the position to choose the speed, depth, positioning, and angle of penetration and thrusting.

TIPS

  • The woman would not only have to bear the man’s weight; she also has to know how to balance herself in the position she chooses while making sure she doesn’t strain herself.
  • Also, due to the added distance of the woman’s legs between their bodies, the partners will find less depth is a common aspect of this position, too. So while Lotus-like might be used to add fun and an element of unfamiliarity to an encounter goes on in order to reduce the chance of the woman becoming too tired.

WARNINGS

  • The Lotus-like position is fun and interesting, but it can be very tiring for the woman.  It puts strain on the contorted part of the body which could lead to pain afterwards, so caution should be exercised.
